The 2026 World Cup will not only determine the new champion, but it will also signify the end of an era for several national teams. So far, 12 of the 48 participating federations have confirmed that they will change their head coach at the end of the tournament, a figure that represents one in four teams that competed in the event.
The latest official departure was that of Zlatko Dalic, who will no longer be the coach of Croatia after several years at the helm of the Balkan team.
Among the first coaches to confirm the end of their tenures are Sabri Lamouchi (Tunisia), Steve Clarke (Scotland), and Miroslav Koubek (Czech Republic), whose teams were eliminated during the group stage.
This list also includes other names of great international recognition. Marcelo Bielsa will conclude his time with Uruguay, while Sebastián Beccacece will also leave the Ecuador national team. The same will happen with Hong Myung-bo at the helm of South Korea.
