Arsenal touched the sky once again in England. The 1-1 draw of Manchester City against Bournemouth sealed the team's victory on Tuesday under Mikel Arteta, who won the Premier League 2025/26 one match before the end of the championship, ending a wait of 22 years.
The Gunners didn't need to play to celebrate. On Monday, they had done their job by defeating Burnley 1-0 thanks to a goal from Kai Havertz, transferring all the pressure to Pep Guardiola's team, which was forced to win to extend the title race to the final matchday. However, City dropped points at the Vitality Stadium, and the title was definitively in the hands of the London club.
This victory represents the 14th English league title for Arsenal and the first since that historic 2003/04 season when the team managed by Arsène Wenger went unbeaten, with stars like Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, and Dennis Bergkamp among others, and is remembered by fans as "The Invincibles".
Since then, the Premier League had become an obsession for the club's fans. For over two decades, Arsenal accumulated competitive campaigns, fought for championships until the end (gathering 5 runners-up finishes and 4 third places), and suffered several frustrating conclusions while watching Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, and especially Manchester City dominate English football.
