A leftist judge ruled on Tuesday that Tyler Robinson will stand trial for the murder of Charlie Kirk, a legal process where the leftist terrorist could face the death penalty if convicted.

Robinson will face seven charges, including first-degree murder. Judge Tony Graf reached this decision after concluding that the prosecutors had enough evidence to try him for the incident that occurred at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.

Kirk's parents and his widow, Erika, attended today's hearing and celebrated the progress of the case. "Today's decision, which comes almost a year after Charlie was taken from us, marks an important step in our family's pursuit of justice for him", the victim's family stated in a press release.

"Every step in this process carries the weight of everything that Charlie's murder has taken from his family, especially his children, who will grow up without their father. We are grateful to everyone who has continued to pray for us, support us, and stand by us through a year of unimaginable pain", they continued.

For the prosecutors in the case, there is "a mountain of evidence" that demonstrates Robinson's guilt, including videos, DNA traces on the weapon, and a screwdriver left at the scene, as well as messages from the defendant to his trans boyfriend who votes for Joe Biden, Lance Twiggs.

Regarding the motive for the crime, prosecutors argue that Kirk was "an outspoken advocate for traditional conservative values, including traditional family and marriage," something that upset two leftist transgender activists like Robinson and Twiggs, although the latter has not been charged in the case.

There are aggravating factors that would qualify Robinson for the death penalty, including that the shooting created a "high probability" of death for bystanders, that he targeted Kirk for his political views, and that he knew children were present in the crowd.

"We know why Kirk was targeted, and those ideas were repugnant to the accused, who was in a homosexual relationship with a man who was considering transitioning. It doesn't take much to connect the dots", summarized prosecutor Ryan McBride.
