The World Bank's estimates contrast with forecasts for Brazil, which would grow by 1.6%, and Mexico, with 1.3%. This difference positions Argentina as one of the engines of growth in the Latin American scenario

A World Bank report released this Wednesday in Washington placed Argentina as the main exception in a complex regional context, projecting at least two years of sustained growth thanks to the reforms of the Government of Javier Milei.

The document highlights that, while Latin America and the Caribbean are facing difficulties, the country is showing strong economic growth, with projections above average.

According to the report, the region will grow overall by 2.1% during 2026, a figure lower than the 2.5% recorded the previous year and which was described as “insufficient” to generate significant improvements. In this scenario, Argentine performance appears as a striking contrast.

The agency points out that, after years of economic crisis, Argentina, under the Government of Javier Milei, shows clear signs

of recovery.

Within this framework, it projects a growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 3.6% for 2026 and 3.7% for 2027, ranking above other relevant economies in the region.

.

In this context, favorable projections reflect the great positive impact of the ongoing reform process, in a regional environment where limitations prevail to accelerate growth.

This is a total change compared to previous years, characterized by economic crises, rising inflation and rising poverty

.

Since the inauguration of the libertarian administration, numerous reforms have been implemented that have eliminated the fiscal deficit, stabilized the currency and sharply reduced the number of poor people, in parallel with the recovery of the economy.

Thus, Argentina is emerging as one of the most striking cases in Latin America, in a scenario in which most nations face difficulties in sustaining higher levels of expansion.
