Democratic lawmakers in the state of Massachusetts are pushing a bill that would grant Muslim residents formal power in state government to supposedly "address" discrimination against this community.
They want to create a commission of 11 members so that Muslims can advise state leaders on issues such as education, healthcare, employment, and civil rights. Under this initiative, Islamophobia would also be "combated" and the ways in which Massachusetts responds to anti-Muslim hatred would be addressed.
The bill, known as S.2134 and introduced by state senators Jamie Eldridge and Vanna Howard, could not be debated in the chamber this term because it was introduced before the session ended on July 31, although the sponsors of this legislation will bring it up in the next session.
This commission could recommend qualified American Muslims for government positions while reviewing how state policies and services affect Muslim communities. It would also connect those communities with state officials and help bring their concerns into public policy debates.
In summary, the commission would take on a key advisory role in the State. Its members would not be able to pass laws, issue orders, or compel agencies to follow their recommendations, but they would be able to influence government decisions by being part of the sphere of power. It is worth noting that Massachusetts does not have any other permanent commission representing people who practice a particular religion or believe in a specific ideology.
"It’s really so that we can have a better understanding of their community, how we can try to address any issues that may be affecting them,” said state representative Michael Moore. "It’s also to address what is reported as Islamophobia, that is, the fears towards the Muslim community."
Massachusetts, the state promoting such delusional initiatives, is governed by Democrat Maura Healey, who recently made headlines for signing a law that expands the practice of abortion up to the very day of birth, a decision that was celebrated with fanfare throughout American progressivism.
