There are strong chances that Ohio Trump-supporting Congressman Jim Jordan, will announce tomorrow his intention to lead the resistance against the extreme left policies of the Democrats by running for the position of House Minority Leader, according to journalist Jake Sherman.
"The Ohio Republican is the first to enter the race for minority leadership. Jordan will argue that the leadership needs new blood, and investigations are his specialty," Sherman specified. If elected, the Congressman from Ohio, who was re-elected last night, would replace Mike Johnson, who announced his retirement earlier this morning.
According to Fox News, Jordan's campaign to become a party leader was already anticipated if Tuesday's results did not favor the establishment. The Ohio native currently chairs the House Judiciary Committee and had already launched his candidacy to be the head of the Republican caucus in 2023. His rival would be Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise.
The media outlet POLITICO claims that it will not be easy for Jordan to secure the leadership of the caucus knowing how well-connected his rival is: "Scalise has spent nearly eight years as the number two in the leadership, raising tons of money and building close relationships with a wide range of lawmakers. During this election cycle, he traveled with 203 candidates and sitting legislators, and funneled nearly 24 million dollars to his Republican colleagues."
