Against the ropes, Biden's and the Democrats' favorite doctor will have to answer questions in the Senate this week

The former White House physician, Anthony Fauci, will testify this Wednesday before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, in an interrogation that will focus on the gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, his ties to EcoHealth Alliance, and his actions in general during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fauci is accused of lying to Congress under oath in May 2021, when he testified that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) "have never funded and do not currently fund gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology."

Recently declassified intelligence documents by the outgoing Director of National Intelligence of the U.S., Tulsi Gabbard, reveal that the Joe Biden administration covered up Fauci's crimes, particularly the fact that the coronavirus originated from a leak at a Chinese laboratory that the Democratic physician was funding.

An infamous pardon

Fauci cannot be formally charged for his crimes because he enjoys an infamous "preventive" pardon granted by Joe Biden. However, the physician can answer senators' questions about the circumstances of that pardon, such as whether Biden was mentally fit at the time of signing the pardon and whether the document was signed using an automatic pen (autopen) without the former president's knowledge.

"It is an extraordinary pardon. It is not a pardon for a specific crime, and it is a pardon for a period of 10 years for anything you could be charged with during that time," Republican Senator Rand Paul told Just The News. "I think that could be challenged in court because it is not specific, it is vague, it does not specify the crime and covers a very large time period," he added.

"I think the fact that it was signed with an automatic pen could be challenged. Was President Biden of sound mind? Did he understand whom he was pardoning? Was he involved in it? So I would take it to court," Paul considered, urging the Trump administration to formally charge Fauci for his serious crime, such as lying under oath to Congress.

Legal experts noted that Biden's pardon eliminates any possibility of Fauci being charged for his actions while he was a federal government official between 2014 and 2025, but this also means that the doctor can no longer validly invoke the Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination regarding those matters following a long-standing legal precedent.
