The State Department warned on Monday that leftist militants with close ties to the Cuban dictatorship and intelligence have developed a plan to surround U.S. military bases and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities if Trump orders an attack on the communist island.
The National Network on Cuba (NNOC) —an organization that groups together far-left collectives such as the Democratic Socialists of America, the American Communist Party, CODEPINK, and others— launched the plan last month, stating that its goal would be to make it "politically and materially costly for Trump to wage war against Cuba" within 24 hours of a threat or attack.
These communist militants plan to attack U.S. military bases, recruitment offices, federal buildings, ICE facilities and field offices, and even "sports stadiums during high-visibility events," according to the NNOC plan, which maps out up to 1,335 military or law enforcement facilities.
A State Department official emphasized that law enforcement "is carefully analyzing" this "very serious and distinctive threat," and noted that some of the groups in the NNOC "have been involved in violent actions in the past."

"The influence of Cuba permeates leftist nonprofit organizations in New York, protests against the Islamic State (ISIS), socialist groups from the DSA, all the uprisings on university campuses that we have seen in recent years," this official stated.
