.

The first of the matches will be on June 6 at Kyle Field, where the team led by Lionel Scaloni will face the Central American team. Three days later, on June 9, he will face Iceland at the Jordan-Hare

Both commitments will serve as a test bench to adjust tactical details and evaluate the performance of the 26 players that appear on the final list, which must be submitted before May 30.

Previously, the coach has already raised a list of up to 55 players, a formal step required by FIFA, as he progresses in the final purge of the squad.

After these matches, Albiceleste will set their sights on their World Cup debut, which will take place on June 16 against Algeria at the Arrowhead Stadium. Thus, the countdown enters its final stretch with a plan already defined to defend

the title.

The background

Previously, the Argentine National Team has already faced both Iceland and Honduras. He met the European country only once, in the first round of Group D of the 2018 World Cup, with an unexpected 1-1 draw. On the other hand, Albiceleste played three times with the Central American team, all of them with victories (1-3 in 2003, 1-0 in 2016 and 3-0 in 2022

).
