A banner with a direct message to the coup leader former dictator Evo Morales appeared in the early hours of Sunday, May 31, on a walkway located at the bus terminal of the municipality of Sacaba, in Cochabamba, Bolivia, generating a strong political and social impact due to its content.

The sign, visible for much of the morning on Villazón Avenue, was directed at the former Bolivian president and bore a signature attributed to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), the most powerful narcoterrorist organization in Brazil.

“Evo, it's the DEA or us, fulfill your promise. PCC,” read the message displayed in public view, visible to passersby and drivers circulating in the area.

The appearance of this banner confirms the links between the former socialist president and dangerous structures of organized crime, as it is a direct warning from an organization with a strong presence in regional drug trafficking.

The Primeiro Comando da Capital

The Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), author of the banner, is considered the largest and most powerful narcoterrorist organization in Brazil, with operations extending internationally. Its structure is linked to cocaine trafficking and various illicit activities, including arms smuggling, money laundering, kidnappings, and thefts.

This criminal network maintains a presence in Bolivian territory, especially in the regions of Santa Cruz, Beni, and Pando, where it controls strategic drug trafficking routes. Additionally, in the tropics of Cochabamba, there have been reports of settling scores associated with disputes related to drug trafficking in which PCC's involvement is mentioned.

The regional context adds an additional element of severity. On May 28, the United States Government announced the designation of the PCC and Comando Vermelho (CV) as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO), a measure that will take effect on June 5, 2026.

The State Department justified this decision by describing both organizations as the largest in Brazil and responsible for “orchestrating brutal attacks against police officers, officials, and civilians.”

In this scenario, the appearance of a banner with a direct message to Evo Morales from this criminal structure confirms its relationship with the former president and how organized crime networks operate in the region.
