President Javier Milei participated this Monday in the “Celebration Night for Israel”, organized by the Latin Coalition for Israel at the Vision of Future Church in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, where he received the “Gratitude” award for his support of the Israeli state and the Jewish people. During his speech, the president defended Judeo-Christian values, questioned antisemitism, and launched harsh criticisms against international leftism.
The distinction was presented by Mario Bramnic, president of the Latin Coalition for Israel, who highlighted the head of state's commitment to Israel, his intention to move the Argentine embassy to Jerusalem, and the decisions made by his administration regarding foreign policy. Upon receiving the recognition, Milei thanked the gathering and stated that the award represents his affection for Israel “as president, as an Argentine, and as a lover of the ideas of freedom”.
At the beginning of his remarks, the president congratulated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the outcome of the latest elections in his country. He also warned about the resurgence of antisemitism at the international level and stated that Israel needs to consolidate strong leadership to face current challenges.
“I want to use this space that brings together representatives of multiple creeds and religions to celebrate the upcoming visit of Pope Leo XIV to Argentina”, expressed Milei. The President considered that the event will reinforce the commitment to Judeo-Christian values, which he defined as the foundations of the West, and emphasized the importance of faith in today's society.
The head of state also explained the foundations of his support for Israel and stated that his government has adopted an international orientation linked to Western democracies. “We do not defend Israel out of a personal whim of the President of the Nation, but because today it is the bastion of our values in the world”, he declared.
