The Brazilian footballer Romario Da Silva suffered a shocking injury in the match between Montagua and Olancha FC that will require several months of recovery.

The Honduran football community was shocked by the serious injury suffered by Romario Da Silva during the match between Motagua and Olancho FC in the triangular matches of the Clausura Tournament. The Brazilian winger suffered a luxation fracture of the fibula in his left leg in a play that generated scenes of strong impact both on and off the field.
The unfortunate incident occurred at 55 minutes into the match, when he was contesting a ball with Marlon Ramírez. The Brazilian lost his balance due to the momentum of the run, and in the fall, his left foot got stuck in the grass andhis ankle was completely dislocated, which required immediate medical intervention. The severity of the injury was evident from the very first moment: several players could not hide their distress, and some even broke down in tears upon seeing their teammate lying on the grass.
After being immobilized on the field, Da Silva was transported to a health center in Juticalpa, where the initial X-rays confirmed the diagnosis. He was then referred to Tegucigalpa for a surgical intervention, while the doctors assess whether there are additional ligament injuries.
The club expressed its support with a public message: "The blue family is with you and stands by you, dear Romario". Additionally, the management was present to accompany him before the operation and reinforced the institutional support: "Total backing from our board of directors and from all the Motagüense people for you, Romario. In difficult times, this shield and its people stand more united than ever. We will all get through this together".
Montagua lamented the injury and is supporting Romario in his recovery.
Although the club has not yet issued a definitive medical report, initial reports indicate that the recovery time could range from six to eight months, depending on the evolution after the surgery. Meanwhile, the incident transcended borders and became one of the most shocking injuries in recent Central American football.
