Miller, who has been Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, expressed his gratitude to the president after Trump announced his appointment to replace Susie Wiles, who will leave the main coordination position at the White House to join the president's political operation.
"President Donald J. Trump is the most transformative political leader in U.S. history", Miller wrote on Friday in a post on social media platform X. He also highlighted that the president had rescued the country and expressed his commitment to fight to ensure the fulfillment of his political goals.
The official described his appointment as the pinnacle of his professional career and thanked Wiles for her work and service over the past years. His statements reflect the close political relationship he has maintained with Trump since the first presidential campaign in 2016, when he began to play a central role in crafting his speeches and formulating his main proposals.
At 41 years old, Miller has extensive experience within the American conservative movement. During Trump's first term, he served as senior advisor and White House speechwriting director. After the Republican left office in 2021, he led America First Legal, a conservative organization dedicated to pushing legal actions against leftist policies and defending initiatives related to the Republican agenda.
He returned to government in 2025 as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and National Security Advisor, from where he became one of the main architects of the immigration policy of Trump's second term. Miller played a decisive role in the offensive against illegal immigration, tightening border controls, and accelerating deportations.
The White House Communications Director, Steven Cheung, also supported the appointment and stated that there is no firmer defender of Trump's agenda than Miller.
Now, with Miller at the helm of White House coordination, Trump is counting on one of his most loyal and combative collaborators to defend his policies in an increasingly confrontational scenario with the Democrats and greater legislative difficulties.
