The Brazil Grand Prix presented various challenges for Franco Colapinto. Among the tire changes, the rain that returned towards the end, and the difficulties in finding space on a tricky track, the Argentine finished in 13th place, unable to take advantage of the opportunities the race offered to get closer to the points zone. After the race in Interlagos, the Alpine driver reviewed his performance and explained the factors that affected his result.
One of the main issues was at the start. Colapinto lost a couple of positions in the first few meters and fell to 15th place. "I don't know what went wrong at the start, but we had a terrible start, it was the worst of the year I think, I had no grip, no power, nothing, I didn't move forward at the start, I was stuck and lost many positions there", he acknowledged.
From that beginning, the Argentine had to work to make up ground in a race marked by changing asphalt conditions. After his first pit stop, he managed to advance and got into the top ten on lap 49, although he later lost positions in his battles with Nico Hülkenberg and Arvid Lindblad.
Beyond the result, Colapinto valued his performance while on track. "I had good maneuvers, I pushed to the limit the whole race, I think I tried my best", he stated. However, he also explained that he faced difficulties in progressing due to the traffic of other drivers: "Then Leclerc and Albon held me up a lot".
In that sense, the driver considered that his performance had positive aspects, although the circumstances did not allow him to translate them into a better result. "I think I had a good race in terms of when I was on track, I was doing well", he maintained. He added: "We did what we could, it was a tough race with complicated circumstances on the track and nothing, we did what we could".
Finally, Colapinto acknowledged that the weekend could have ended differently, but emphasized the importance of analyzing the issues to try to improve in the next competition. "It was a complicated weekend and I think we managed it well, obviously it could have gone better, yes, we need to understand why, the things that can be improved and work for the next one", he concluded.
When Colapinto will race again
After a challenging American tour, the Argentine driver will have a week of rest before returning to the United States for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Action on the street circuit in Nevada will kick off on Thursday, November 19 with the first free practice and will conclude in the early hours of Sunday, November 22.

Previously, the native of Pilar competed twice at this track. The first was in the 2024 season, when he raced for Williams, where he finished 14th, while the second was last year, already with Alpine, where he crossed the finish line in 15th place.
