The Argentine president Javier Milei reaffirmed his position as the leader of the right in the region, supported by an intense international agenda, the strengthening of strategic alliances, and a regional context marked by the advance of governments ideologically aligned with his vision.
In this framework, his recent trip to Peru was a clear example of this process. Milei participated in the presidential inauguration of Keiko Fujimori in Lima, an event that reflected the change in the political landscape in the region and consolidated a bloc of countries with right-wing governments.
Prior to the ceremony in Congress, the Argentine leader held an exclusive bilateral meeting with the newly elected president at the Torre Tagle Palace, where Fujimori expressed her personal and political support, praising him with the phrase: "You are an inspiration".

Milei's presence in Peru was not only ceremonial but also demonstrated his central role in articulating regional leadership.
During the official activities, he coincided with other leaders from the region, including Daniel Noboa (Ecuador), Santiago Peña (Paraguay), José Antonio Kast (Chile), Rodrigo Paz (Bolivia), José Raúl Mulino (Panama), and Tito Asfura (Honduras), in a scenario that showcased the consolidation of a right-wing political axis.

This positioning is complemented by an active strategy of support for like-minded leaders in different countries. In Brazil, Milei recently traveled to São Paulo to publicly support the candidacy of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, son of former president Jair Bolsonaro.
Additionally, the Argentine leader confirmed new stops on his regional agenda: he will visit Ecuador and Colombia in early August.
In Quito, he will meet with Daniel Noboa to advance bilateral agreements and cooperation on security matters, while in Colombia he will participate in the inauguration of Abelardo de la Espriella, the right-wing elected president who defeated the communist candidate Gustavo Petro.

Since Milei came to power in 2023, Latin America has experienced a marked shift to the right. In the recent electoral processes, right-wing forces prevailed in the vast majority of countries, in a context marked by social discontent with the left due to inflation, insecurity, and lack of economic growth.
This scenario has consolidated a new balance of power in the region, with multiple governments under right-wing administrations and a significantly reduced left, whose main and only stronghold is Brazil, governed by Lula da Silva. In this context, Milei's figure stands out as a political articulator of this new regional map.
Moreover, the return and political influence of Donald Trump from the United States has served as a strong political and narrative support to consolidate these leaderships in the hemisphere, with Milei being the Latin American president with the closest ties to the U.S. president.
With an active foreign agenda, consolidated ties, and a favorable regional scenario, Milei positions himself as the main reference of the right, leading a political transformation process that redefines the power map in the region.
