The defeat of Chacarita against Atlanta did not end with the final whistle. Two hours after the derby, when a good part of the fans had already left the vicinity of the stadium, an internal conflict that had been simmering for years between two factions of the Funebrero supporters was once again exposed and ended with gunfire, injuries, and arrests.

The conflict began when members of La Famosa Banda, the official faction, went in search of their rivals from Los Pibes de Chacarita, intending to attack the place where the latter usually kept their flags and other items. According to the reconstruction of events, around 50 members of the sector led by Angélica Molina headed towards a house located in the area of Matheu and Zapata once the police operation was concluded.

The group's expectation was to find little resistance, but the situation was different. About 40 members of the dissident faction were still at the location and responded to the attack. What began with stones and bladed weapons quickly turned into a chase that extended for about 400 meters, up to the vicinity of Gutiérrez and Maipú.

The confrontation lasted about 15 minutes and ended with the appearance of firearms. In that context, local residents reported hearing six gunshots before the two groups dispersed upon the arrival of the police.

Among the injured is Molina herself, known as "La Dueña", who sustained a gunshot wound to her leg and head injuries. The woman was taken to Castex Hospital and remained under observation, although she was out of danger. Brian Cisneros, a member of her faction, was also injured, receiving a shot to his left quadriceps and was treated at Belgrano Hospital.

From the internal conflict's environment, it was also reported that two other members of Los Pibes de Chacarita, identified as Marcelo and "el Alemán", may have suffered gunshot wounds. However, both reportedly sought treatment at a private clinic in Hurlingham, and their cases were not officially recorded.

The police intervened after calls from local residents and used rubber bullets to disperse the groups. As a result of the operation, 17 people were arrested, including Josué, Angélica Molina's son, and Emilce Bustamante, daughter of the late historic leader Raúl "Muchinga" Escalante.

However, the detainees were released a few hours later. The UFI 1 of San Martín intervened and classified the case as "Injuries, assault, and resistance to authority". According to the information released about the case, the Justice did not initially include the crime of misuse of firearms despite the existence of gunfire.

The dispute between both factions is not new. Over the past few years, and with the backing of leadership and police sectors, they had agreed to divide the stadium stands: La Famosa Banda was located on Gutiérrez street, while Los Pibes de Chacarita occupied the section corresponding to French.

Behind that division, there are also interests linked to the businesses surrounding the stands, such as merchandise sales, food and drink stalls, ticket reselling, and informal parking. In recent weeks, threats had appeared on social media mainly from the official sector, which was concerned about the rival faction's growth.

The escalation reportedly began after a discussion involving Josué, one of Molina's sons, who allegedly informed his mother about the incident. From there, according to the known reconstruction, the attack against the place where the rival faction kept their belongings was organized.

The police intervention managed to halt the confrontation before it escalated further, but the tension did not disappear. The Agency for the Prevention of Violence in Sports (APreViDe) confirmed that the 17 detained individuals will be included in the admission ban, while the incident raised an even greater concern for Chacarita.

The club is also going through a complicated sporting present and is in relegation zone (17th out of 18 in Zone B with 27 points) with eight matches remaining in the regular phase of the tournament. In this context, an internal conflict within the supporters that ended with gunshot injuries adds another point of tension around an institution that is already going through a delicate moment.
