Silent Hill: Townfall will not feature Akira Yamaoka and will have a new composer for its soundtrack

The Japanese company Konami officially confirmed that Silent Hill: Townfall will not feature music by Akira Yamaoka, the historian responsible for the sound identity of the franchise since its debut in 1999.

Instead, the soundtrack for this new installment will be provided by Antony Scott Burns, known artistically as Pilotpriest, who will be responsible for bringing a new musical vision to the saga.

Konami seeks to renew the classic sound of Silent Hill

The decision marks a historic change within the franchise, since it will be the first time that a modern main release of Silent Hill will not feature the participation of Yamaoka in

its musical section.

Konami explained that the intention is to offer a renewed, modern and experimental sound proposal, without losing the psychological atmosphere that characterizes the Silent Hill universe.

Pilotpriest arrived at the project after excelling in works related to horror movies, special effects and the composition of retro electronic atmospheres.

Silent Hill: Townfall will arrive in 2026 for PS5 and PC

Konami confirmed that the game will be released during 2026 for:

• PlayStation

5 and PC.

The release is being developed by the Screen Burn studio, in collaboration with Annapurna Interactive.

Townfall is part of Konami's new strategy to revitalize the Silent Hill franchise with multiple projects in development.
