The Office of Official Response of the Nation came to the crossroads of Miguel Ángel Pichetto's statements and was forceful on social networks: “Lumilagro is growing. Pichetto lies”, after the company Lumilagro publicly denied the alleged closure of its plant.

In the midst of the political debate over the country's economic direction, a new controversy broke out on social networks after the Peronist leader Miguel Ángel Pichetto spread false information about the alleged bankruptcy of a historic national company. The company Lumilagro publicly denied the version and clarified that its

plant continues to produce normally.

The episode began when Pichetto stated on his account on the social network X that the traditional thermos manufacturer had closed its factory after more than eight decades of activity. In that message, the leader also assured that 170 workers had been left without employment, and used this supposed situation to question the government's economic policy

According to the deputy's post, the shutdown was “a true reflection of what the government wants”, stating that the company had “turned off its furnaces” after decades of production. However, the version was quickly refuted by the company itself.

From Lumilagro's official account, the company responded with a strong message in which it described the information released by Pichetto as “false” and clarified that the plant did not close and continues to operate normally.

In addition, the firm explained that it recently developed a new line of thermoses designed specifically for the Argentine market, a strategic decision that made it possible to improve product quality and reduce manufacturing costs. As detailed by the company, this modernization process had positive consequences for the business. As reported by the company, sales doubled, allowing the firm to return to growth after a period of reinvention within the local industry

.

In this context, Lumilagro emphasized that the reality of the company is very far from the version released by the Peronist leader, and that the activity continues with total normality. The social network X itself ended up incorporating a note from the community in the publication that circulated with the wrong information. This clarification indicated that the company had publicly confirmed that the shutdown was false, quickly exposing the original message as an unsupported statement

Response from the Office of Official Response of the Nation The

controversy also prompted a response from the Office of Official Response of the Nation in X, which published a direct message under the title: “LUMILAGRO CRECE. PICHETTO IS LYING.

”

In that statement, the agency explained: “National Deputy Miguel Ángel Pichetto wrongly stated that a historic thermos factory owned by the national company Lumilagro closed and that 170 workers were left on the street. This is FALSE.”

The message added that: “The Lumilagro company itself publicly denied it: the plant not only continues to produce, but it developed a new line of thermos for the Argentine market, improved the quality of its products, optimized costs and, as a result of this innovation process, doubled its sales and returned to growth, as explained by their official networks.”

The official response also questioned the political impact of disseminating incorrect information about a fully operational national company: “Disseminating the alleged closure of a factory that continues to operate and expand its production is no small detail. It is, maliciously and with an obviously political purpose, to promote false information about a company that is doing exactly what the Argentine economy needs: investing, innovating, improving its competitiveness and growing.

”

In the same vein, the statement concluded: “Lumilagro launches to compete and earn its place in the market, leading to investments, an expansion of its capacity and, ultimately, more employment for Argentines. This is the capitalism that makes the economy grow and generates wealth. Not the playful ideas that set back 200 years of Congressman Pichetto.

”

This is not the first time that the Peronist leader has been involved in controversies on social networks for statements that are later refuted. One of the most memorable cases was his encounter with the founder of Mercado Libre, Marcos Galperin. In that episode, Pichetto raised the need to apply heavy taxes to Chinese e-commerce platforms such as Shein and Temu, arguing that it was necessary to protect the

industry and local employment.

Galperin responded publicly through the same social network and relativised the leader's approach. The businessman assured that he was not concerned about international competition and maintained that Mercado Libre is ready to compete, thus marking a clear contrast between the protectionist stance of the Peronist leader and the vision of openness and competition defended by the most dynamic productive

sectors.
